Lately every where is look I see chalkboards as art pieces. As a homeschooling family it was easy to sell my husband on this idea. He went to Home Depot and found chalkboard MDF that sells for about $10 for a 2x4 piece. He put the board up with some anchors and screws.
Then I stained some trim.
He used small nails to attach the trim to the board and wah lah!
I figure we can use it for school during the week and make it fancy during special occasions. I've been studying up on hand lettering so I can make it look really good.
